International Desk:
Myanmar’s military has seized control of the country’s capital, killing Aung San Suu Kyi. Now the citizens, dismayed by the army’s kidnappings, murders and arrests, have started leaving Myanmar.
According to the BBC, people who do not join the anti-government movement are still leaving the country.
Myanmar’s India border officials issued a similar message on Saturday (March 5th).
They said about half a hundred Myanmar nationals had crossed the border into India to avoid the unrest of the military coup.
A team of 75 people is waiting.
Meanwhile, an official of India’s Assam Rifles Paramilitary Force told the BBC that 47 Myanmar nationals, including six policemen, had already entered the northeastern Indian state of Mizoram.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said at least 65 more Myanmar nationals were waiting to enter India.
According to The Hindu, those who have already entered India, including the police, do not want to work under the current junta government in Myanmar.
Myanmar has been on fire since the army took power on February 1. The army has become desperate to quell the protests, which have been going on for more than a month.
