Chattogram Bureau:
Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said Bangladesh has turned around because Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has made qualitative progress by emphasizing the IT sector. Besides, it has succeeded in raising its position in the socio-economic field to an admirable level.
He said that education-based technical and vocational training courses should be included in the education program by increasing employment opportunities.
The mayor met Saturday morning in the conference room of the city’s Hotel Beach. He was speaking as the chief guest at the IT Entrepreneur Conference.
Addressing the young entrepreneurs, the mayor said there is no opportunity to run for jobs. Ensuring employment for oneself and others as an entrepreneur is the thought of the time. Because of this a new entrepreneur can become the most valuable asset of the society. He said China, the world’s most populous country, has been able to turn the entire population into human resources and is now at the forefront of development. Chinese entrepreneurs are leading the wheel of development around the world.
So our new entrepreneurs need to remember that they are not just for themselves, they are also for the country and the world. Therefore, they have to take the responsibility of building an information technology and knowledge dependent Bangladesh.
The mayor said many of the women who once worked in theready-made garment industry did not like him and made bad comments. But today they are the biggest and main means of achieving revenue and growth in Bangladesh. He reminded that the freedom fighters had liberated the country and today Bengalis have risen to the seat of pride. In order to sustain this achievement, all must make concerted efforts to implement Bangabandhu’s adorable Sonar Bangla through economic liberation.
Speaking on the occasion, Councilor Mohammad Morshedh Alam said, “If the goal is intact, success will surely come.” Youth must move forward in tandem with the world. Only by moving forward will the vision and mission of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina be successful.
